If you’ve been thinking about booking a Boudoir Photography session in Indianapolis, you’ve probably got a list of questions running on a loop. What do I wear? Will I be nervous the whole time? When I walk through the door, what happens?

We get it. Booking a boudoir photography Indianapolis session is a big step. Most of our clients tell us afterward that the not knowing was the hardest part. Today we’re walking you through the entire experience, start to finish. This is the same way we’d explain it if you were sitting across from us right now.

By the end of this, you’ll know exactly what your morning at Dimensions Photography will look like. No guessing required.

What does the fee cover for your Indianapolis Boudoir Photography Session?

Your boudoir session starts with a $400 session fee, and that fee covers more than just camera time. It includes professional hair and makeup and a full morning of pampering in our private studio.

We built it this way on purpose. Most boudoir photographers charge separately for hair and makeup, or skip it entirely and leave you to figure it out. We’ve got you covered the moment you walk in. That fee is your ticket to a slower, more intentional morning. Its not just a 20 minute photo session squeezed into your lunch break.

What Is the Studio Actually Like?

Our Indianapolis studio is private, comfortable, and built specifically for boudoir. That means no shared lobby. There are no other clients walking through. It is just you, our team, and a space designed to make you feel at ease.

The studio is light filled and flattering, with curated sets and styling options throughout. We’ve got cozy corners that feel like your own bedroom on a Sunday morning. If that isn’t your vibe we’ve got editorial inspired setups for something bolder. Every space is intentionally built to photograph beautifully while still feeling like somewhere you’d actually want to be.

Choosing Your Sets and Outfits

Before your session, we’ll guide you through choosing which setups matter most to you.

Right now our sets include bodyscapes, a styled bedroom, a chair setup, and a rug area. Each one creates a completely different feel in your final images.

We don’t expect you to know which set fits which outfit. That’s our job. We’ll walk through your wardrobe with you and match pieces to spaces so every look feels intentional, not random. We’ll help you figure out which outfit belongs in the bedroom and which one belongs on the rug.

This is also where our complete prep guide comes in handy. It covers wardrobe, body prep, and everything else you’d want to think through before your session. Check that out!

What happens first at my Indianapolis Boudoir Session?

Your session morning starts with hair and makeup. This part alone usually takes an hour or more depending on the look you’re going for. One of the best parts of booking with us is that professional hair and makeup is included, not an upsell.

This isn’t about changing how you look. It’s about enhancing what’s already there. We want you to feel like the most polished version of yourself the second you step in front of the camera. And honestly, this part of the morning does double duty. It gives you time to relax, settle into the space, and ease into the experience instead of walking straight from your car into a camera lens.

What Should I Wear to My Boudoir Session?

You can wear whatever makes you feel confident, from lingerie to an oversized sweater to nothing at all if that’s your comfort level. We’ll guide you through outfit choices ahead of time so nothing feels last minute on session day.

We also have props and sets available to use right in the studio, things like robes, jewelry, and styling pieces. If you’d rather bring your own, we’re happy to give you guidance on what to buy and where, so your outfits actually work with the sets you’ve chosen.

We Create Art Together

Once hair and makeup wraps, we move into the actual session. You’ll be guided through every pose, every movement, every expression. We’re not handing you a list of poses and walking away. In other words, we’re in it with you the whole time.

The goal isn’t a stiff, posed version of you. It’s natural, flattering images that genuinely look like you on your best day. Most clients tell us the nerves fade within the first ten minutes, once they realize we’re not expecting them to know what to do.

The Viewing Party and What Comes Next

A week or two after your session, you’ll come back to the studio for your viewing party. This is where you’ll see your images for the first time on a large screen and choose the prints and products you want to take home.

Prints, products, and digital files are purchased separately from your session fee, and most of our clients spend somewhere between $1,500 and $5,000 on their final collection. That might sound like a range, and it is, because everyone’s vision for their final pieces looks different. We also offer flexible payment plans.
